AIPM Awards – National Winner 2018
On Tuesday 9 October 2018, the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM), hosted the Project Management Achievement Awards (PMAA), as part of the annual conference. Established by AIPM in 2000, the PMAA exist to recognise, honour and promote outstanding achievements in program and project management.
Ontoit provided project management services on this major $73 million redevelopment over the last four years. Accordingly, we were honoured to be a part of what was declared the National Regional Project of the Year, for the Shepparton Law Courts project.
It was fitting that Veronica Furnier-Tosco from Court Services Victoria (CSV) was in attendance with us at the PMMA to be able to receive the award.
Nick Jago Influences and Persuades at the AIPM National Conference
Ontoit’s Senior Associate Nick Jago delivered an engaging presentation on the final day of the 2018 National AIPM Conference in Sydney. Titled ‘Increasing your powers of persuasion and influence’, Nick applied lessons and observations from his own experience in project management to explain how stakeholders can be guided to more willingly buy into a project.
Over 75 people packed the room for the presentation. Participants were actively engaged with Nick offering a range of useful insights and take away resources.
As we watched the conference wrap-up video, we were excited to see footage Nick Jago influencing and persuading. Clearly, Nicks’ presentation at the conference must have achieved his objective as he managed to ensure that our Ontoit branding featured in the AIPM video… Great job Nick.
Opening the batting: Dave Lavers delivers a workshop on workshops
Ontoit’s Senior Associate, Dave Lavers, facilitated a workshop at the AIPM National Conference as part of the Project Management toolkit stream. This was one of four workshops conducted on the first day of the conference.
Having previously delivered a similar workshop at the 2017 National AIPM conference, Dave worked to draw out experience and knowledge within the room. The objective was to better prepare project managers to assist their clients through conducting more efficient and effective stakeholder engagement processes for their projects.
Well over 60 delegates participated in the 120-minute immersive workshop, which demonstrated and practised tools and techniques that can be used in a project management workshop.
On Thursday 23 August 2018, the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM), Victorian Chapter, hosted their annual awards night recognising outstanding achievement and innovation in project management.
We’re pleased to share that Court Services Victoria (CSV) and Ontoit received the Regional Projects award and the Project of the Year award.
The Shepparton Law Courts, which opened in March 2018, was delivered by CSV, with extensive stakeholder consultation and support from the local Shepparton community. Ontoit has provided project management services on this major $73 million redevelopment over the last four years.
We would like to thank CSV and acknowledge the efforts of everyone involved in the project, including ADCO, Wilde and Woollard, Architectus, GHD Woodhead, Guymer Bailey, WSP Australia, BG&E Facades, GHD, ICE Design Australia, IDLab International, Maureen Jackson Planning, McKenzie Group, Ponsenby, Greater Shepparton City Council.

SCG Condition Assessment
Ontoit Executive Director Mano Nugapitiya has led the condition assessment of almost 250,000 assets within the Sydney Cricket Ground and the delivery of a 10-year maintenance plan. This built on the maintenance plan Ontoit delivered for the heritage listed Members Stand and the Ladies Stand at the SCG last year.

Shepparton Law Courts Open
Exciting to see Shepparton Law Courts officially opened by the Attorney General, with the foyer full of people. The new five-storey building centres on open and transparent delivery of justice, providing a safe and secure environment for all users. As you can see from the photos, the building also features some amazing timber work, inspired by local Red Gum trees. Ontoit has supported CSV’s delivery team providing project management services over the last 4 years.
